1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We also use related technologies such aslocalStorage and tracking pixels; the term “cookies” in this policy covers all of them.
Under the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG, formerly TTDSG) and the GDPR, we may only set non-essential cookies on your device with your prior, informed consent. The consent banner you saw on first visit asks for that consent. You may withdraw or change it at any time — see Section 8.
2. Categories we use
We use four categories of cookies. Essential cookies are set automatically. The other three categories require your explicit consent and are blocked until you grant it.
3. Essential cookies (always on)
Essential cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested. Without them the site cannot function correctly. They do not require consent under § 25(2) Nr. 2 TDDDG.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| sentinelera_consent | Roua Alturk | Stores your cookie-consent choice so we don't ask again on every visit. | 365 days |
| sentinelera_session | Roua Alturk | Authenticates your session after sign-in. Set only once you log in. | Session |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Roua Alturk | Remembers the language you have selected for the interface. | 12 months |
4. Functional cookies (consent required)
Functional cookies remember preferences you have made (theme, layout density, dismissed onboarding tips). They improve usability but the site works without them.
No functional cookies are currently in use.
5. Analytics cookies (consent required)
Analytics cookies measure how visitors interact with the site (page views, navigation paths, performance metrics) so we can improve the experience. We will list each analytics provider here as soon as one is enabled. Until then, no analytics cookies are set.
No analytics cookies are currently in use.
6. Marketing cookies (consent required)
Marketing cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show you relevant content on partner sites. We will list each marketing provider here as soon as one is enabled. Until then, no marketing cookies are set.
No marketing cookies are currently in use.
7. Third-party cookies
A small number of third-party services we embed (for example, embedded video players or live-chat widgets) may set their own cookies. We will not embed any such service before your consent has been collected for the appropriate category. Each third-party provider operates under its own privacy policy, which we link from the relevant entry in the table above.
8. Managing your consent
You can manage your cookie consent at any time:
- Re-open the consent banner. Clear the
sentinelera_consentcookie in your browser’s site settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit. - Browser-level controls. All major browsers let you block, delete, or restrict cookies via their settings menu.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. We honour Global Privacy Control signals when sent by your browser.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing we did before the withdrawal.
